Since August of 2015, MyCanvas has been transferring projects from Ancestry servers to MyCanvas by Alexander’s servers. If you have logged into your account since August, your projects have already been transferred and are safe.
Currently, those projects that have not yet been transferred are still available on Ancestry.com’s servers. However, as of April 4th, 2016, Ancestry.com will no longer store MyCanvas projects. To save all projects, both previously printed and currently in the works:
- Login to Ancestry.com
- Click on the “Extras” tab.
- Select “Photo Books and Posters”. This will take you to our website and automatically begin the transfer of projects from Ancestry servers to those of MyCanvas by Alexander’s. It is normal for projects to take a while to import, lasting anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. You can exit and the projects will continue to import. You only need to import projects once.
All projects not transferred before April 4th, 2016 will be removed from Ancestry.com and no longer be accessible or recoverable by the Ancestry or MyCanvas teams.
All projects transferred to Alexander’s servers are safe, and will not be deleted.
